The Doughboy Foundation is proud to celebrate the success of our First Illumination Ceremony and Living History events this past weekend, September 13-15. We were deeply moved to welcome over 6,000 supporters in person and online for the unveiling of the National World War I Memorial’s centerpiece bronze sculpture “A Soldier’s Journey.” You can see a few event photos below.
While this marks the Memorial’s official completion, it also starts a new chapter for The Doughboy Foundation. During the Ceremony, Jeff Reinbold, Superintendent, National Mall and Memorial Parks remarked, “Our national parks and monuments serve as living memorials, preserving the stories and sacrifices of our past while inspiring future generations.”
