Here is the Stand on the Word reading for today:

Song 5-8

Reflection Questions:

Watchmen on the walls had authority, but in Song 5:7, they abused the king's bride to be. Like believers throughout history, she was persecuted as she sought her beloved. The watchmen found her and:

  1. Beat her
  2. Bruised her
  3. Took away her veil

2. When Solomon wrote Song of Songs 6:8?-9 he had "sixty queens and eighty concubines, and virgins without number" (which grew to seven hundred, three hundred, and still innumerable). Yet in verse 9, he calls his betrothed a "dove," "my perfect one," "the only one." Of whom was he speaking prophetically throughout this amazing God-breathed love story? (See 2 Cor. 11:2-3; Eph. 5:27.)
