Purpose: The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) Corpus Christi District is initiating an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for the proposed Regional Parkway – North Padre Island project from State Highway (SH) 286 on the Corpus Christi mainland to Park Road (PR) 22 on North Padre Island, a length of approximately 13 to 16 miles in Nueces and Kleberg counties, Texas. The proposed project would explore potential route options for a proposed new crossing from the Corpus Christi mainland, across the Laguna Madre, to North Padre Island.
