This recognition is a huge milestone, and I’m proud to represent the power and potential of our community and the power of Latino leadership at the highest levels of New York City politics.

Here's what they said: "At the start of the year, Council Member Amanda Farías became the first Latina Majority Leader, just two years after taking office. She’s pushing for affordable homeownership and is already seen as a contender for Council Speaker."

This recognition reflects the progress we've made together, from expanding affordable housing and creating opportunities for working families to fighting for equity in the Bronx and across New York City. But there’s more to do.
