Dear A.,
Senior White House envoy Amos Hochstein met with Israeli officials today, as Israel prepares for potential broader conflict in the north with Hezbollah.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu

told Hochstein that it wouldn’t be possible to return the 80,000 Israelis evacuated from their homes since October "without a fundamental change in the security situation in the north."
Netanyahu added, "Israel appreciates and respects the support of the United States, but in the end, will do what is necessary to maintain its security and to return the residents of the north to their homes safely."
In a separate meeting, Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant

told Hochstein that only military action against Hezbollah would allow evacuated Israelis to return home.
"The possibility for an agreement is running out as Hezbollah continues to 'tie itself' to Hamas, and refuses to end the conflict," Gallant said, according to a statement from his office. "Therefore, the only way left to ensure the return of Israel’s northern communities to their homes will be via military action."

Meanwhile, Hezbollah today

launched more rockets into Israel, damaging at least one building in Metula, following more than 100 rocket attacks over the past week. IDF fighter jets responded by striking a Hezbollah weapons depot and other buildings used by the terror group in southern Lebanon.
Backed by Iran, Hezbollah is the most powerful terrorist army in the world. Hezbollah has fired more than 8,500 rockets at Israel in the last year.
America must stand with Israel and ensure it has the offensive and defensive resources it needs to deter, defend against, and confront Hezbollah, Iran and the regime's other terror proxies.

Second anniversary of Mahsa Amini’s murder
Today marks the second anniversary of 22-year-old Mahsa Amini’s brutal murder at the hands of Iran’s morality police. Mahsa was arrested and beaten for "improperly" covering her hair.
The Iranian regime continues to brutally oppress women while fueling terrorism around the world, and attacking American troops, Israel, and our other allies.
