Dear John,

Sign the petition: Covid relief must include green infrastructure!

The numbers are staggering: a million cases of Covid-19 infections, 55,000
deaths, 26 million unemployed. In a few short months our lives have been changed
forever.

The speed at which we were struck by the health and economic crises brought on
by the coronavirus is breathtaking - and yet, the climate crisis continues to
unfold with consequences as vast and as deadly. Combined, these challenges are
too great to rely on status quo policies of the past. We must move quickly to
rebuild an economy that safeguards our health and the health of the planet.

Tell Congress and State Leaders: After the pandemic, we must rebuild our economy
by investing in green and resilient infrastructure.

Our response to the threats we face is extremely consequential. Merging
solutions is the only way to get it right. Right now we must subdue the deadly
pandemic through rigorous science, increased testing and adequate protective
gear for all frontline workers. We must hasten unemployment benefits and
financial relief to every worker and community throughout the country facing
financial ruin. And finally we must use our collective will to rebuild a
resilient economy based on justice and equity.

At CCAN we believe that the best way to rebuild the economy is by creating a
robust and sustainable national infrastructure. Implementing a rebuild plan
based on climate solutions will create millions of good paying jobs while
building a resilient nation for future generations. Because of our close
proximity to legislators in DC we have been in a unique position to push for
smart climate legislation. Today, from the shelter of our homes, we urgently
need your help.

Please add your voice. Urge Congress and your state leaders to invest in a green
and resilient infrastructure.

Green infrastructure incorporates natural environments and engineered systems
that promote and safeguards our health and the health of the planet. Done right
it combats climate change, reduces air and water pollution and restores working
land. A resilient infrastructure upgrades public transportation and modernizes
our power grid. It moves away from fossil fuels, ensuring that homes, schools
and businesses are energy efficient. The fact is, our health, economic well
being and the health of the planet depends upon our ability to rethink old
economic patterns and to rebuild a sustainable future.

All of our lives have been upended by the coronavirus. It will take all of us to
come together to rebuild a better tomorrow. Join us in our efforts.

Contact your Congressmembers and state leaders today: Please support a post
COVID-19 relief plan that rebuilds our country’s infrastructure, creates
millions of green jobs and improves the health of our planet.
