Friends --

We hope you and your loved ones are staying safe and healthy during this uncertain time. Virginia has seen a rise in coronavirus cases this week, but we've also seen a rise in available testing for folks across the Commonwealth. Team Warner urges folks to continue to follow public health directives so that we can work together to slow and stop the spread of coronavirus.

Here's what Mark is working on to make sure every Virginian has access to the resources they need during this difficult time:

- Mark joined colleagues from the House and Senate in calling for a historic investment in rural broadband. This pandemic has made the disparities in reliable internet access clearer than ever, and Mark is working hard to ensure that every Virginian -- and every American -- has equal access.

- Mark joined other Democratic colleagues in pushing to ensure that minority and underserved communities are included in Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) funding. Low- and moderate-income communities and communities of color are experiencing disproportionate impacts from coronavirus, and it's critical that we send relief funding accordingly.

- Mark supported Johns Hopkins University's new Testing Insights Initiative, a comprehensive hub of information about available coronavirus testing. This hub will be a critical resource for local and federal legislators and public health officials as they make decisions about our path forward.

- Increases in coronavirus testing and personal protective equipment (PPE) are a necessary step to re-opening the economy. Mark has called for any plan to re-open the country to take into account advice from public health professionals and consider all of the available data.

- Mark and Senator Tim Kaine sent a letter to the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) urging the agency to approve a program that would ensure that children who rely on free or reduced-cost school lunches will have access to healthy food during the ongoing public health crisis.

- As folks across the country file for unemployment in record numbers, Mark continues to work with Senators Bernie Sanders, Doug Jones, and Richard Blumenthal on the Paycheck Security Act, which would guarantee paychecks to workers who have been laid off or furloughed during the pandemic.

- Mark joined his Senate colleagues in pressing for more information about how the Trump administration plans to expand teleworking access for federal employees and evaluate when it's safe for these folks to return to work.

Your kind words and support keep our team moving forward -- thank you from everyone on Team Warner!

Be well,

Team Warner
