Eugene Vindman for Congress

John -

As I was having my coffee this morning, I was thinking about my journey to this moment and my decision to run for Congress. I never imagined that I would be here today.

I’m a Jewish-Ukrainian immigrant whose family came to America to find hope like so many others, and I was proud to join the military and serve my country.

When my brother, Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman, heard President Trump’s infamous call with Ukraine, we knew our oath to defend our country and the Constitution required us to report the call up the chain of command.

Because we did not let Trump's abuse of his office stand, he was impeached — and his vengeance cost us our careers when we were fired in retaliation.

Back then, I never thought I would run for Congress. But in the four years since, we’ve seen Republicans go all-in on authoritarianism.

The attempted coup of January 6th, Trump and his allies illegally meddling in fair elections, the GOP rolling back our fundamental rights — we can’t sit by while our democracy is brought to its breaking point like this.

The reality is the threat remains — more than ever with Trump seeking a return to the Oval Office. So when I heard the call to serve, I did what I always did. I answered it, but I cannot do this alone.

I need your help to get across the finish line. The path to the House majority runs through VA-07, and we cannot fall behind on our fundraising if we want to defeat the super PACs dumping money into our race.

So please, make a contribution today and help us fight back against the MAGA extremists trying to defeat our movement and destroy our democracy. This is important.

I’m running because I believe it’s the duty of those in office to put the needs of their communities and their country over everything else — including political party.

It’s our shared duty to step up and defend our democratic rights. I hope you’re with me.
