Your voice is desperately needed for Delaware. Assisted suicide has landed on Governor Carney's desk. Will you take a few minutes to ask him to veto?
Dear Advocates,
Your voice is urgently needed TODAY to stop assisted suicide in Delaware. Will you take five minutes to ask Governor Carney to veto HB 140? This dangerous bill arrived on his desk Friday, and the clock is now ticking until his deadline to take action. HB 140 is deadly policy for Delaware, and a dangerous step for the entire country.
You can also call his office to have your voice heard: Dover Office Wilmington Office

One more thing: Please send this alert to all like-minded friends and networks. Together, we can make a difference.
You may remember from earlier this year that both the House and the Senate in Delaware passed this legislation by the slimmest possible margin: One single vote in both chambers. In the Senate, they had to come back a second time to push it through after the first vote failed.
It is clear that there is no consensus, and that is no surprise given the well-documented dangers. Will you stand with us to take action right now? Please call Governor Carney's office and urge him to veto HB 140, a bill that puts the most vulnerable Delawareans at risk.
DID YOU KNOW HB 140:
Does not require any in-person examination. Vulnerable patients can us a wholly telehealth process to request drugs to end their life.
Does not require physician involvement, but rather allows advanced practice nurses to prescribe lethal drugs.
Allows deadly prescriptions to be sent through the mail. A patient could request drugs via video and receive them at their doorstep, never seeing a health care professional in-person at any stage of the profess.
Allows heirs and others who would benefit form a patient's death to serve as one of the witnesses.
Does not have any requirement for a mental health evaluation. And, if a patient is referred for such, there is again no requirement for it to be in-person.
Your voice can make the difference between life and death for vulnerable patients. All those who have received adverse diagnoses need compassion and health care; HB 140 peddles death. Call Governor Carney and ask him to veto HB 140. I am proud to stand with you in this effort!
