Recently I joined a number of lawmakers and other Carver County officials to celebrate the groundbreaking of the next Hwy 212 project, which will expand more than 5 miles of the highway between Norwood Young America and Cologne into a four-lane divided highway.

It is an important (and long-overdue!) project that will improve safety on the corridor, expand access to jobs, and boost economic growth in our area. The total cost of the project is about $73 million, which includes about $29 million in state aid. When this phase of the project is completed next year, Highway 212 will be four lanes all the way from the twin cities to Glencoe.
