Dear John,
Thank you for being one of Amnesty’s most active supporters. You are part of our global human rights family — and during these uncertain times, I want you to know how thankful I am to have you by our side.
Because you care so much about human rights, I want to personally send you an important save the date.
Due to the unprecedented need caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, Tuesday, May 5 is a special, global day of unity and giving. It’s called Giving Tuesday Now — and I’m hoping we can count on your support during this extraordinary time of need.
We know that this is a challenging time and understand if you’re unable to give. You can still show support for human rights by sharing this message with your friends and family.
As part of this day of giving, we're raising funds to support our emergency research and advocacy efforts to respond to the heightened vulnerability, discrimination and marginalization faced by those most at risk during the pandemic, such as elderly Rohingya refugees.
Older Rohingya refugees face a devastating combination: they are the group most at-risk of COVID-19, but they are not being adequately protected.
To make this day of giving even more impactful, all donations will be matched — doubling what we can accomplish together at this critical time of need — so we can mobilize our movement to save lives.
I hope you’ll consider joining us on Tuesday as we come together to advocate for refugees and other marginalized groups who are facing even greater vulnerabilities during this pandemic.
Thank you.
