TAMMY BALDWIN FOR SENATE

Good morning. This isn’t the news I wanted to share, but we fell short of the mid-month goal we set this weekend to get our fundraising back on track.

Now, I’m not here to scare you, trick you, or guilt you into making a donation. The sky isn’t falling just because we missed this goal.

But I will be honest with you in saying that we’re at a disadvantage every time we miss a goal like this one. I can’t self-fund like my opponent can, so these goals really do matter.

They matter even more with an FEC public fundraising deadline approaching at the end of the month, after which our fundraising numbers will be made public for one of the final times before Election Day.

If our campaign shows any signs of vulnerability in that report, Hovde and his GOP allies could decide to up their ad spending against us — on top of the $43 million worth of ads they’ve already flooded Wisconsin’s airwaves with.

That would help Hovde continue to surge in the polls as he seeks to flip this seat red and secure the Senate majority for Republicans.

We can’t let that happen, which is why we extended our goal until midnight tonight:

Can I count on you to chip in today to help us get back on track so we can defend this battleground seat and our Democratic Senate majority?

Thanks for opening this email — your support means so much.
