Family Policy Alliance (FPA) urges all Americans to join together in prayer following the Sunday assassination attempt against former President Donald Trump in West Palm Beach, Florida.
The incident occurred as Trump was at the fifth hole of the Trump International Golf Club just before 2:00 p.m. on Sunday. Secret Service agents noticed a rifle and shots were fired, with agents tackling the former president to the ground.
Trump’s campaign soon sent a message confirming that Trump was safe. The alleged shooter was later revealed as 58-year-old Ryan Routh. He was reportedly found with a rifle with an attached scope, a GoPro camera and backpack. The FBI is now leading the investigation.
“This is a call to prayer for Americans. We are thankful for law enforcement and Secret Service personnel protecting former President Trump and ask God to continue providing safety and calm following this tragic attack,” FPA President and CEO Craig DeRoche stated.
“In this time of tragedy, God is our hope. We encourage all Americans to turn to Him for strength and protection for our nation and its leaders during this difficult moment,” he added.
