*$14 million available for Energy Efficiency Retrofit grants; applications close Sept. 25*

Federally recognized tribes, towns, cities and public agencies encouraged to apply

The Energy Retrofits for Public Buildings program provides grant funding for public entities in Washington, such as towns, cities, tribes and public agencies, to make energy updates to public buildings and facilities. This round of funding has more then $14 million available. 

*Project eligibility:*


* Facilities of any size are eligible.
* Eligible project size is $100,000 to $1 million.
* The grant is open to leased facilities, if the lease extends beyond the useful life of the improvement measure. 
* An energy audit is required by a Qualified Energy Auditor. Grantees receiving an award will be reimbursed for the cost of the energy audit if it was conducted after July 1, 2023.
* This grant can be used with the Energy Audit for Public Buildings Grant, the Clean Building Performance Standard Tier 1 incentive program, and other utility incentives and rebates.

*Match funds required*: 15%, or 5% for projects in overburdened communities.
