Since Aug. 18, New York City landlords are required to notify tenants of whether the law applies to them when issuing new or renewed leases, rental increases, and notices of eviction or litigation. Now, legal experts and advocates for both tenants and property owners have begun to weigh in on what’s to come, and what may get ironed out for the new law in an already beleaguered housing court system.
