Secret Service Agents Open Fire on Suspect Carrying Firearm Near Trump While Golfing

Times of Israel: US Secret Service agents opened fire after seeing a person with a firearm near Trump’s golf club in West Palm Beach, Florida, while the Republican presidential candidate was golfing, according to two law enforcement officials. No injuries are reported. The person fled in an SUV and was later apprehended in a nearby county by local law enforcement, the officials say (Times of Israel). New York Post: It comes almost exactly two months after Thomas Matthew Crooks shot Trump at a rally in Butler, Pa. on July 13 — wounding him in the ear… The man’s motives are not yet known. He was arrested by Palm Beach County sheriff’s deputies. The White House issued a statement soon after the incident: “The President and Vice President have been briefed about the security incident at the Trump International Golf Course, where former President Trump was golfing. They are relieved to know that he is safe. They will be kept regularly updated by their team” (New York Post). Collin Rugg: A man with the name ‘Ryan Routh,’ the same name as the would-be Trump assassin suspect, is a Ukraine fanatic and Trump hater who was apparently recruiting soldiers to fight in Ukraine (X).

Officials on Why Trump Did Not Have More Security: "He isn't the sitting president"
Collin Rugg: The Trump assassination suspect was hiding in the bushes with an AK-47 with a scope, two backpacks, and a GoPro. The Secret Service agents were one hole ahead of Trump, scoping out the area when they noticed the suspect. The FBI is now investigating the incident as an “attempted assassination” making this the 2nd assassination attempt on Trump in 2 months. Trump was taken to the ground by agents after the “pops” rang out. According to the Secret Service, agents fired 4 shots at the suspect (X). End Wokeness: Officials on why Trump did not have SS protection surrounding the golf course: “He isn’t the sitting president” (X). Charlie Kirk: President Trump’s round of golf was NOT on any public schedule. How did the suspect know Trump was golfing there today? How did he get a semi-automatic rifle so close to the president (X)? Libs of TikTok: MSNBC suggests it’s the Trump campaign who need to “tone down the rhetoric” following a shooting at Trump Golf Club where Trump was playing golf (X).

Leftists Have Used Hateful, Inciteful Rhetoric Against Trump for Years
Reporter Dustin Grage: Trump just survived another assassination attempt. Your friendly reminder that Tim Walz called Trump a “threat to Democracy” and a “fascist” who will “put people’s lives in danger” just weeks after he survived his first assassination attempt (X). Libs of TikTok: “Right now I feel like MAGA in general, they are threats to us domestically” – Rep Jasmine Crockett (D) this morning. A few hours later someone tried to kiII Trump (X). Amuse: The wife of disgraced Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman, Rachel Vindman, posted this on 𝕏 after President Trump survived his second assassination attempt in two months. You do not hate these people enough (X). Reporter Justine Brooke Murray: You’ve incited violence against Trump for 9 years, while calling his supporters “dangerous.” When he was nearly assassinated on live TV, you either denied or complained they “missed” (X). Clay Travis: This is twice in 60 days they have tried to kill him. Are you paying attention yet (X)?

Kamala Harris Completes Softball Solo Interview With ABC
Townhall: Vice President Kamala Harris sat down for her first solo interview— still pre-recorded nonetheless— but sans her crutch vice president nominee Gov. Tim Walz (D-Minn.). She stuck with ABC News, the network that got her through the presidential debate by fact-checking and interjecting former President Donald Trump while throwing her softball questions.  Harris answered just five questions during the 11-minute interview with Action News 6 ABC, a local affiliate of ABC News. Interviewer Brian Taff grilled her on having a different policy approach than President Joe Biden because here’s the thing: Harris has to devise a plan to fix the economy, immigration, and inflation without undermining the Biden-Harris Administration’s policies. At the same time, she needs to explain how she will fix the top concerns for voters, which she had nearly four years to do and did not. In response, Harris told Taff that Biden’s policies do not fit the “twenty-first century” (Townhall). Clay Travis: Kamala is asked how she’s different than Joe Biden. Can’t offer any differences. Guys, this is a local Philly news interview. This is why they are hiding her. She’s a disaster when asked any question one on one. She can’t do this job (X). Johnny Maga: Kamala was just asked how she can appeal to Trump voters. “I… based on experience and uh… a lived experience… know. In my heart, I know. In my soul, I know…” Repeats memorized debate talking point about having common ground (X).

CNN Says Kamala Harris’ Social Media Team is Acting “Repeatedly Deceptive”
Townhall: No, they don’t deserve a full pardon for their atrocious anti-Trump coverage, but at least, in this instance, they did their job. I have no idea why CNN’s Daniel Dale waited this long to slap a fact-check on Kamala’s social media team for spreading comical, facially untrue lies about the former president, but it is what it is when it comes to this outlet. Dale went through multiple instances where the Harris campaign was lying. Notably, remarks about Charlottesville are included in this list, though it did not delve into the ‘very fine people on both sides’ lie (Townhall). CNN: The KamalaHQ account, which has more than 1.3 million followers on the X social media platform, has made a habit of misleadingly clipping and inaccurately captioning video clips to attack former President Donald Trump. The Harris campaign deploys KamalaHQ as a kind of irreverent attack dog, using jocular posts to draw attention to controversial, incorrect, or dubious comments by Trump and his allies. But the account, which the Harris campaign calls its “official rapid response page,” has itself made inaccurate comments on multiple occasions (CNN). TV News Now: When even CNN is calling out the Harris campaign’s social media account for “deceiving and misleading,” you know things are spiraling in Wilmington (X).

AG Merrick Garland: “We will not allow this department to be used as a political weapon"
Townhall: Attorney General Merrick Garland made some rather tone deaf remarks claiming that the Department of Justice’s (DOJ) “norms” are “a promise that we will not allow this department to be used as a political weapon.” Garland was promptly called out for such remarks, by the Trump-Vance campaign, as well as former Democratic Rep. Tulsi Gabbard of Hawaii, once a Democrat, now an Independent who is on the Trump transition team. Gabbard also addressed how her criticism is personal. “I would tell Merrick Garland today, if you are serious about the words you have just delivered to the American people, why don’t you start by investigating some of your own federal agencies, like the Department of Homeland Security and TSA and ask them why after one day, the very next day after I called out Kamala Harris for being a danger to our country, should she be elected as president, I got added to a secret domestic terrorist list,” Gabbard continued, noting “that’s a good place to start” (Townhall). Libs of Tiktok: “We will not allow this department to be used as a political weapon” – Attorney General Merrick Garland who weaponized the DOJ to go after political opponents (X).

Two IRS Whistleblowers Sue Hunter Biden’s Defense Lawyer
National Review: Two IRS agents who came forward last year with bombshell allegations of misconduct in the long-running Hunter Biden tax case are now suing Biden’s lead attorney for $20 million for allegedly defaming them with false statements to the media. IRS whistleblowers Gary Shapley and Joseph Ziegler filed a lawsuit against high-profile defense lawyer Abbe Lowell in Washington, D.C., each demanding $10 million worth of damages for Lowell’s repeated accusations that the IRS agents committed criminal acts with their whistleblower disclosures (National Review). Fox News: Hunter Biden previously secured a sweetheart deal with Delaware U.S. attorney David Weiss, but it fell apart last year after Shapley and Ziegler went public with their concerns. Shapley has said that decisions “at every stage” of the probe “had the effect of benefiting the subject of the investigation.” Additionally, Ziegler has said that Biden “should have been charged with a tax felony, and not only the tax misdemeanor charge,” and that communications and text messages reviewed by investigators “may be a contradiction to what President Biden was saying about not being involved in Hunter’s overseas business dealings.” Ziegler also alleged that federal investigators “did not follow the ordinary process, slow-walked the investigation, and put in place unnecessary approvals and roadblocks from effectively and efficiently investigating the case,” including prosecutors blocking certain questioning and interviewing of Biden’s adult children (Fox News).

NYC’s Chief Legal Counsel Resigns as Feds Investigate Mayor Eric Adams’ Inner Circle on Corruption Charges
National Review: New York City Hall’s chief legal counsel Lisa Zornberg, who has defended Mayor Eric Adams amid several federal probes, resigned late Saturday after the police commissioner stepped down from his post in the wake of federal raids targeting cops and top mayoral aides. Zornberg’s announcement of her sudden departure came just before 11 p.m. Saturday. Few details have been provided about her decision, but it’s likely related to the four federal investigations in which the Adams administration is embroiled. A former senior Manhattan federal prosecutor, Zornberg served as the mayor’s chief counsel since July 2023 (National Review). New York Post: Last week, FBI agents raided the homes of Caban and other members of the nation’s largest police force in what sources described as a sweeping corruption probe involving potential influence peddling. Caban’s twin brother, James, is also being eyed by feds for his alleged role as a “fixer” for tony Manhattan restaurants and clubs as part of his “consulting” work (New York Post).

North Korean Leader Kim Jong Un Tours a Nuclear Facility
Fox News: North Korea released first-ever photos of a uranium enrichment site on Thursday. Supreme leader Kim Jong Un has been known to show off his nuclear bombs, but this week he revealed the facilities that create the key material that powers them. Kim released photos of himself touring the facility as he called for his military to “exponentially” increase its nuclear arsenal and be ready for combat with the U.S. and its allies. The pictures released by state media KCNA show a glimpse into the country’s secretive nuclear program, which is banned under multiple UN Security Council resolutions (Fox News). Independent: A report accompanying the photos on the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) website did not reveal the facility’s location. But analysis by North Korea observers and experts has revealed that the pictures were taken at the Kangson uranium enrichment plant just outside of Pyongyang… The photos show an advanced design of around 1,000 centrifuges and the hall with cascades connecting the centrifuges, suggesting that North Korea has made progress in its uranium enrichment program, according to the experts (Independent).

33,000 Boeing Workers Go On Strike After Union Negotiations Fall Through
Wall Street Journal: Boeing’s biggest labor union went on strike, halting production of its bestselling jets and dealing the latest blow to the struggling aerospace giant. Thousands of machinists who build Boeing’s 737, 777 and 767 jets walked off the job shortly after midnight Friday, after rejecting a labor deal struck between the union’s leaders and Boeing’s executives. The contract offered 25% wage increases over four years. Union leaders of the 33,000-member International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers chapter said about 94% of their members voted to reject the contract and 96% voted to go on strike. The officials said they would seek to return to the negotiating table with the company (Wall Street Journal). Associated Press: Boeing stock fell 3.7 percent Friday, bringing its decline for the year to nearly 40 percent… The machinists make $75,608 per year on average, not counting overtime, and that would have risen to $106,350 by the end of the proposed four-year contract, according to Boeing (Associated Press).
