NY Republicans Honor 9/11 Victims

On Wednesday, the country acknowledged the  23rd anniversary of 9/11, the worst terrorist attack that faced our nation.

Chairwoman Stefanik Elise published an op-ed in the Press-Republican honoring the precious lives lost on September 11, 2001.

Read an excerpt below –

"Twenty-three years ago on Sept. 11, 2001, the world witnessed the deadliest terrorist attack against the United States in our nation’s history that cut short thousands of precious lives.

We are eternally grateful for the courageous first responders, service members, and citizens that came together in support of one another as the towers fell. There were no strangers on Ground Zero, only patriots helping their fellow countrymen and women. Through the rubble and amidst the dust and destruction of that day, our nation vowed to not allow it to fade from our memories. As we solemnly mark the 23rd anniversary of Sept. 11 and honor the lives lost on that horrific day, we carry out our promise to never forget."

It’s the bravery of the passengers on United Airlines Flight 93, who stood against the face of evil and gave their lives to save others.

We lost so many friends, colleagues, neighbors, family members, and heroic first responders who sacrificed their lives rescuing their fellow Americans. President Trump Delivers Strong Debate Victory

On Tuesday, President Donald Trump took on Kamala Harris and two pro-Democrat “moderators” from ABC in the second Presidential Debate. Delivering a strong America First message and bold plan to Make America Great Again, President Trump dominated for a second time.

Chairwoman Stefanik stated –

"President Trump delivered a powerful America First message directly to the American people focusing on reining in inflation and strengthening our economy, securing our border, and peace through strength foreign policy. Kamala Harris tried to hide from her radical record supporting banning fracking, raising taxes, defunding the police, and opening the border, but President Donald Trump correctly held her accountable for failed Kamalanomics fueling inflation, her role as Joe Biden’s open border czar, and her weakness on the world stage. The ABC moderators were not journalists, they were pro-Kamala activists who baselessly attacked President Trump leading to a 3 on 1 debate, while allowing Kamala to lie repeatedly. President Trump won overwhelmingly and will win again on Election Day."

Holding Corrupt Cuomo Accountable

On Monday, the House Select COVID Committee released a bombshell report that disgraced Governor Cuomo himself and his senior aides ordered, directed, and executed the deadly nursing home executive order killing over 15,000 vulnerable seniors confirms what hardworking New Yorkers have already known. This bombshell testimony coming to light also reveals that the disgraced former Governor Cuomo and his top aides were caught covering up their culpability and guilt to try to selfishly save their shredded reputations. There is no question that Andrew Cuomo is responsible for the deaths of innocent nursing home seniors.

Chairwoman Stefanik stated –

"We have only scratched the surface on the fatal actions of disgraced Former Governor Andrew Cuomo and his corrupt administration in their criminal COVID cover-up that cost the lives of over 15,000 vulnerable New York seniors in nursing homes across the state. I have been at the forefront of demanding accountability for Cuomo’s crimes from calling for independent investigations, spearheading countless letters to HHS and the DOJ with New York GOP members, and leading questions during a congressional interview of the disgraced governor. On behalf of the countless families who continue to mourn the unnecessary loss of their loved ones, disgraced former Governor Andrew Cuomo will be held accountable."

In an op-ed published in Newsweek, Elise wrote –

"As a representative of the hardworking families of New York, and the most senior congressional Republican from New York in over 100 years, I have been deeply committed to transparency and accountability on behalf of New Yorkers who lost their loved ones in nursing homes…

Here are the indisputable facts:

On March 25, 2020, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo and his Department of Health issued now-deleted guidance that forced COVID-positive patients back into nursing homes. The mandate required acceptance of patients regardless of a nursing home's capacity or ability to safely accept positive cases and exposed thousands of vulnerable residents to the virus…

House Republicans campaigned on a platform of accountability, and our actions in this investigation reflect our commitment to delivering on that promise. By holding Cuomo accountable for his decisions, we aim to restore public trust, ensure ethical governance, and provide the first step in the long fight for justice for grieving families across New York State. Our efforts in Congress are a testament to the importance of checks and balances in government, as we have a constitutional obligation to expose this corruption and deliver results."

House GOP Report into the Disastrous Afghanistan Withdrawal

On Monday, the House Committee on Foreign Affairs concluded their investigation of the Biden-Harris Administration’s disastrous Afghanistan withdrawal. The Committee report illustrates how the White House was singularly focused on leaving Afghanistan and ignored the counsel of military leaders who predicted the resulting chaos.

Chairwoman Stefanik stated –

"The House Foreign Affairs Committee report provides detailed evidence to support what we have known for three years: the Biden-Harris Administration caused the deadly and catastrophic Afghanistan withdrawal which resulted in the deaths of 13 U.S. service members. To make matters worse, the investigation also reveals that the Biden-Harris Administration has consistently lied and covered-up key details about the withdrawal that point to their complicity.

This report is a painful reminder of what American weakness causes on the world stage. The Taliban and other terrorist organizations now control over $7 billion worth of U.S. defense equipment, Afghanistan is experiencing a resurgence of terrorist activity, and our adversaries from Communist China to Russia to Iran are emboldened.

The Biden-Harris Administration chose politics and optics over the lives of our troops. As the Representative for Fort Drum and the 10th MTN Division, the most deployed Army Division since 9/11, I am appalled at the callous disregard revealed in this report that the Biden-Harris Administration had for the safety of our service members and the those that gave their life in Afghanistan to protect the freedoms we hold close.

It is long past time that we hold the Biden-Harris Administration responsible for this catastrophic withdrawal and this report will enable us to do so. House Republicans and all Americans thank Chairman McCaul for his unwavering resolve in conducting this investigation."
