Today marks the beginning of my favorite time of year–Hispanic Heritage Month!

I am filled with pride and gratitude for the incredible contributions our community has made to this country. From our culture to our work ethic, the Hispanic and Latino communities have been at the heart of America’s success story for generations.

As the daughter of Mexican immigrants who worked tirelessly to support their seven children, I know firsthand the strength, determination, and resilience that defines our community. It’s because of them that I fight for working families.

It’s been a difficult few years, and I know we’ve got work to do.

That’s why I’m working daily to deliver solutions to working families nationwide by improving access to affordable healthcare, lowering costs, and strengthening labor rights. I’m also committed to enacting comprehensive immigration reform with a path to citizenship to ensure families stay together.

I couldn’t be more grateful for the Latino community that continues to make America thrive.
