When Elon Musk bought Twitter, he sent me a DM that said, “Do you want the Babylon Bee restored? There will be no censorship of humor.”

We’ve been trying to write a joke worth $44 billion ever since.

They’ve gone after our First Amendment ally Musk, too – Disney, Apple, IBM, and Sony are just some of the companies who have pulled their advertising from X to protest the fact that it platforms the Bee and others accused of “wrongthink.”

All this amounts to a sustained, coordinated attack on free thought and expression. These pillars are central to our mission of speaking truth through humor.

No matter how much pressure they exert, the Bee will never back down. Free speech is worth more than whatever they can take from us.

To people with integrity, like Musk, principles are worth more than money.
