Hey John,
Today marks the halfway point of September, leaving us with only two more weeks until the next FEC end-of-quarter deadline. It’s the second-to-last time we’ll file our fundraising numbers for everyone — including our opponents like AIPAC — to see in 2024.
While we saw some wins and losses this primary season, we need to show those on the far right and corporate-backed establishment that our work is far from over, and we’re rebuilding the resources needed to recruit even more diverse, young, working-class progressives to run for Congress and challenge the status quo.
Deadlines like this are crucial for grassroots-powered organizations like ours to show we have the support of regular, everyday people like YOU. Can you help us reach our end-of-quarter fundraising goal of $150,000 by pitching in $5 now?
Contributions from people like you empowered us to help re-elect Squad members Summer Lee, Rashida Tlaib, Ilhan Omar, AOC, and Ayanna Pressley this year. But, with the devastating losses of Jamaal Bowman and Cori Bush, we need to regroup and start preparing for candidate recruitment so we can rebuild the bloc.
As we’ve built power and seen the impact of the Squad in Congress over the years, we’ve been able to narrow the spending gap between our people-powered candidates and the Democratic establishment. Then, more challenges came our way when right-wing lobby groups like AIPAC and their super PACs, funded by GOP millionaires and billionaires, started flooding more money than EVER before into our races to oust our progressive incumbents. Big Tech and Crypto are following suit.
We do our best to match the seemingly unlimited resources of our opponents with grassroots donations of $5, $17.88 (our average donation this year), $50 or more from folks like you. We rely on your support 100% because we don’t and we won’t take a cent from corporate PACs.
And we use your donations strategically: we do research and outreach to recruit the next generation of leaders, help our candidates hire staff and build their campaigns, set up field organizing operations, support media strategies, and so much more.
In solidarity,
Justice Democrats
