Good afternoon, and welcome to our
Weekend Update.
The presidential debate, hosted by ABC
News on Tuesday, was a clear example of media bias. The two ABC
moderators, who were deeply biased in favor of Kamala Harris, engaged
in a debate with President Donald J. Trump. Despite President Trump's
resilience in the face of this biased onslaught, Harris was given a
free pass, as Harris has had throughout the race by the mainstream
media. This was evident in the fact that Harris was not held
accountable for her blatant lies, flip-flopping, and lack of coherent
or consistent policy positions.
Harris deflected questions about the
economy and rising inflation. The truth is that the Harris-Biden
administration is directly responsible for skyrocketing inflation,
driven by reckless spending, an attack on American energy, and
policies that pushed interest rates higher. Kamala Harris’s so-called
"economic plan" is nothing more than a scheme to expand government
control, enforce damaging price regulations, and distract from their
failures by pointing fingers at gas stations and grocery stores. I

What is clear is that Harris does not
have a plan to address the failed Harris-Biden economy and record
inflation. Kamala conducted a disastrous interview on the local
ABC news affiliate in Philadelphia and was asked about her
plan to address the economy. Instead of answering with any semblance
of a coherent plan, she again talked about growing up in a
middle-class neighborhood and the importance of lawn maintenance. Click

Here is a tip for Kamala: Americans are
not worried about their lawns unless they have to buy gas for their
lawnmower. They are worried about rising inflation and the fact that
they can't pay for groceries. See below.
Kamala Harris’ blatant fracking lies are
nothing short of outrageous. She has repeatedly declared her intention
to ban fracking, yet now, in a shameless attempt to win an election,
she’s completely reversed her stance. Let’s not forget that the
Biden-Harris administration has outright prohibited the export of new
LNG shipments, undermining American energy independence. Last night,
Kamala didn’t just backtrack on a few policies—she flat-out lied to
the American people.

MAINSTREAM MEDIA: The ABC debate was a classic example of how
in the bag the liberal media is for Kamala. President Trump had to not
only debate Harris but was ganged up on by the two moderators who
constantly “fact-checked” his answers. They didn’t correct any of
Harris’s lies; worse, their “fact-checking” was WRONG.
- The Real Crime Data: A Crisis Willfully
Ignored
LIE: Moderator David
Muir stated that statistics show that crime levels are decreasing.
TRUTH: The FBI's
National Incident-Based Reporting System (NIBRS) data, which he cited,
does not tell the full story. FBI statistics only reflect crimes
reported to the FBI and fail to account for the steep decline in
arrest rates and the growing number of crimes that go unreported due
to a soft-on-crime approach perpetrated by the Biden-Harris no-cash
bail, pro-criminal policies. According to the Bureau of Justice
Statistics' National Crime Victimization Survey (NCVS), violent crime
rose by an alarming 42.4% in 2022 — the most significant one-year
increase ever recorded. The NCVS data, based on extensive surveys of
American households, presents a much more accurate and alarming
picture of the crime explosion happening across our country.
Moreover, the FBI itself has acknowledged
significant issues with its data collection. In 2019, 89% of agencies
covering 97% of the population submitted data, but by 2021, that
coverage plummeted to less than 63% of departments overseeing just 65%
of the population. In 2022, more than 30% of police departments
nationwide, including major cities like Los Angeles and New York,
failed to report crime data, while another 24% only partially
reported. This leaves Americans with an incomplete and skewed picture
of crime, particularly in urban areas where violent offenses have
spiked.

The Biden-Harris Administration's Failure on Crime
- The crime crisis gripping our nation has been fueled by the
Biden-Harris administration's pro-criminal, anti-police policies.
Since President Trump left office, crime rates have skyrocketed. In
Pennsylvania alone, since 2020, motor vehicle theft has risen by 140%,
larceny has risen by 22%, and robbery has increased by 1.8%. These
statistics are emblematic of a broader trend across the country, where
radical left-wing district attorneys have downgraded felonies and
refused to prosecute violent offenders.

Law Enforcement Stands with President Trump - The
Fraternal Order of Police, the nation’s largest law enforcement
organization, recently endorsed President Trump. Police officers
nationwide remember when law enforcement was respected, resources were
provided, and public safety was a top priority, so they chose to
support President Trump. His commitment to restoring law and order
starkly contrasts the Biden-Harris administration’s pro-criminal,
defund the police agenda.
LIE: Moderator Lindsey Davis stated that there is
no state in this country where it is legal to kill a baby after it’s
born.
FACT: That is not true.
To date, Vermont, Oregon, New Mexico, New Jersey, Michigan, Maryland,
Alaska, Colorado, the District of Columbia, and Harris’s VP Tim Walz’s
state of Minnesota have no ban on gestational abortion limits.
It is a tragedy that ABC News and the moderators chose
to tip the scales in support of Kamala Harris. The American people
deserved a free and fair debate on the issues. Unfortunately, they
were robbed of that opportunity, and Kamala Harris will not agree to a
fair debate.
Kamala Harris did her fair share of lying... on fracking,
immigration, and the point about no American soldiers being in combat
zones as an attempt to deflect from their disastrous Afghanistan

It was great meeting with Rich Cassey Jr. and James Rice on
behalf of the Pennsylvania VFW this afternoon. We discussed the
challenges facing veterans in Pennsylvania, the current state of the
VA, and the latest legislative efforts in Congress to advance
veterans' welfare.
This week, we paused to remember the 23rd anniversary of 9/11. We
reaffirm our commitment to Never Forget the morning of September 11,
2001. It began like any other day for many of us. I remember driving
my daughter to school, unaware that it would soon become a day marked
by profound tragedy and incredible bravery. That clear, beautiful
morning in Pennsylvania and the Northeast was overshadowed as news
broke of a plane striking the World Trade Center. Watching in horror
as the second plane hit, the gravity of the situation became apparent. The
attack on the Pentagon and the courageous actions in Shanksville,
Pennsylvania, where passengers thwarted the terrorists' plans, was a
testament to extraordinary bravery and sacrifice.
In the days following, I visited Ground Zero, bringing scooters
at the NYPD's request for the first responders who had been tirelessly
working for hours on end. These scooters were a small token of support
for those dedicating themselves to the rescue and recovery efforts,
not for the injured but for the firefighters, police, and first
responders who needed to navigate the disaster zone.
We lost many loved ones—family, friends, and neighbors. Yet, amid
the pain and loss, we witnessed our nation's remarkable resilience and
unity. As Lincoln’s words remind us, “We here highly resolve that
these dead shall not have died in vain, that this nation, under God,
shall have a new birth of freedom—and that government of the people,
by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth.”
As we reflect on the heart-wrenching images of that time, let us
also remember the chants of USA and the renewed sense of patriotism
that united us. We honor those who perished on September 11, 2001, and
the brave souls who ran toward danger to protect others. Let us never
forget the fallen or the heroes who exemplified the spirit of America
in those trying days and since.

Ground Zero following the tragic 9/11 attack. As always, I am very

In that same spirit of
remembrance, Congress posthumously awarded the Congressional
Gold Medal to the 13 service members who lost their lives in the
terrorist attack at Abbey Gate during the U.S. withdrawal from
Afghanistan. We owe an immense debt of gratitude to these heroes and
their families. Their legacy will be an enduring testament to their
commitment and sacrifice for our country.
I honored Knoebels Amusement
Resort, a legendary, family-based
institution in Elysburg. What began as a simple gathering place along
Roaring Creek in 1926 has become a top amusement park in Pennsylvania
and the Northeast. Knoebels recently earned two prestigious Golden
Ticket Awards from Amusement Today for “Best Food” and “Best Wooden
Coaster” for the highly recommended Phoenix. Congratulations to Dick
Knoebel and the entire Knoebels family on this well-deserved
achievement; our region appreciates your unwavering dedication to

On Thursday night, I was happy to attend
a great event supporting my friend Brenda Pugh, who is running for
State Representative in the 120th district in Luzerne County.
Republicans must take back the state house this November. Brenda will
be a great Representative.
On Friday night, many strong supporters
attended an event for our campaign at the Blue Ridge Trail Golf Club
in Luzerne County. Thank you to all who attended and for your
support.
On Saturday, I was in beautiful
Susquehanna County for a great party for my friend John Kropa.
As I stated when asked to deliver the opening prayer - Johnny
Kropa has done more good for our community in his 75 years than most
people could do in 750 years. The best chairwoman, Donna
Cosmello, was also at the party.
