Hi,

ProPublica just uncovered that Ginni Thomas, Clarence Thomas’s wife,
recently heaped praise on a far-right group fighting against Supreme Court
reforms like the No Kings Act.^1

It’s no surprise that Ginni Thomas is supporting conservative groups
protecting the right-wing Court’s January 6 rulings. Ginni Thomas attended
the January 6 Stop the Steal rally and pleaded with senior White House
staff to help Trump overturn the election in the days leading up to the
insurrection.^2

Ginni Thomas and Donald Trump don’t want Congress to override the SCOTUS
“absolute immunity” ruling, but Democrats are fighting to pass the No
Kings Act to ensure that No One is Above the Law, not even former
presidents.^3

The extreme right-wing Supreme Court’s “absolute immunity” ruling could
still let Trump off the hook in all of his criminal proceedings. It’s a
case where Clarence Thomas had a clear conflict of interest because of his
wife’s involvement in January 6, but he ruled anyway. If there were real
Supreme Court reforms in place, Clarence Thomas would have been forced to
recuse himself. Of course, Ginni Thomas wants to block these reforms.

Democrats put forward the No Kings Act to invalidate the “absolute
immunity” ruling. The bill would assert that, despite what Clarence
Thomas, Samuel Alito, John Roberts, Brett Kavanaugh, Amy Coney Barrett,
and Neil Gorsuch said in their extreme majority opinion, presidents do NOT
have immunity for criminal actions.^4

Congress must act now, override this dangerous SCOTUS ruling, and protect
American democracy.
