In just a moment, I'm going to ask you to make a contribution to our people-powered re-election campaign for Congress. But before I do, I'm hoping you'll give me a chance to explain why your support is so important.

Here's the situation:

September is an especially big month for campaigns across the country, and a major reason for that is the official FEC fundraising deadline at the end of it.

Once this deadline passes, we're legally required to report our fundraising numbers for the year so far. That means disclosing the amount of money we've raised, and how many individual contributions make up that total. Publicly. For everyone to see. Good or bad, no matter what.

Since this is the first FEC deadline since our primary in August — and the final one before Election Day in November — we need to show that the energy behind our progressive movement remains as strong as ever.

That's why your support is critical, victor. Especially this month. We have some ambitious goals to hit for the weeks ahead, and the only way we can do that is if we're all in it together. So please:

When I think of the many, many reasons I'm so proud of the movement we've built together, one of them is the way we fund our campaigns.

No corporate PACs. No billionaires waiting in the wings. Just lots and lots of real people, standing in solidarity, chipping in what they can, and continuing our fight for justice.
