Today is Democracy Day, an international celebration of representative government. We at Issue One love American democracy but also know that democracies are not inevitable. They have to be protected and strengthened each year, by each generation.

That’s why we’re laser focused right now on our election protection work. Through Election Day, we’re leading an unprecedented effort to counter the spread of corrosive misinformation about election processes, voting, and certification.

Our new Election Integrity Toolkit, just one part of our program, provides voters with accurate information about when, where, and how to vote, directing them to information sources they can trust. But we’re also targeting influencers in pivotal counties with tested social media messages and participating in coalition communication efforts to respond rapidly to misinformation before it spreads.
