John, The danger is on the horizon:
Fake video, images, and audio — so-called “deepfakes” created by artificial intelligence (AI) — are becoming a major problem for elections around the world.
Just last month, Elon Musk shared a deepfake video of Kamala Harris in which a hyper-realistic but fake version of the Vice President degrades herself and calls herself a “deep state puppet.” Sadly, it was viewed more than 150 million times in a single week.
California has the opportunity to lead the nation against such deepfake manipulation of our elections by passing two groundbreaking bills . We need to let Gov. Newsom know that we need these passed.
Sign our petition now: Let Governor Gavin Newsom know the nation is watching and he needs to sign these now! >> [[link removed]]

Need to know more about these bills? Here they are:
AB 2839 will ban deepfakes of candidates, elected officials, and elections officials in political advertising or other election communications that are reasonably likely to harm the reputation of candidates or undermine confidence in the outcome of the election for 120 days before an election and for 60 days after.
AB 2655 will require large online platforms to block or label such deepfakes when they get complaints about demonstrably untrue and provably false content meant to impermissibly influence our elections at peak election times.
We need to get these bills over the finish line so the rest of the country knows we're not going to stand for this kind of interference in our elections.
Add your name today: Tell Gavin Newsom to sign both AB 2655 and AB 2839 right away! >> [[link removed]]

Integrity First Voter Action Project is dedicated to expanding ballot access and increasing voter participation across the country.
Since the Supreme Court gutted key provisions in the Voting Rights Act, extreme politicians have taken advantage to pass harsh laws that restrict access to the ballot box. These restrictions particularly affect disadvantaged communities and people of color. It’s our goal to bring awareness to these laws wherever they may crop up and organize voters to take action to ensure the right to vote is available to everyone in their states and communities.
