Dear Jack,

Old-growth forests are vanishing. Decades of mismanagement and irresponsible
commercial logging compounded by extreme climate change-driven wildfires have
decimated these ecologically vital places—and the threats are only growing.

The Forest Service is developing a new national policy to conserve and restore
old-growth forests. But while it’s a step in the right direction, the current
draft is not nearly strong enough to make a meaningful impact.

The current draft policy doesn’t do enough to prevent the deterioration of our
remaining old-growth forests. The final amendment needs to not only safeguard
our oldest trees, but also include a process for stewarding the old-growth
forests of the future.

The current threats to old-growth forests are too large and the problem too
severe for the Forest Service to continue with business as usual. We need to
stand together to save these forests before it’s too late!

Tell the Forest Service to strengthen protections for old-growth forests
