| Patriot,  I was born on the west coast and while growing up, split my time between San Diego and small-town Wyoming.  I always knew I wanted to serve our country. After high school, I attended West Point. After graduating with a degree in Nuclear Engineering, I was commissioned into the Infantry, completed Ranger School, and was sent to Fort Wainwright, Alaska, for my first assignment as Infantry Platoon Leader.  I later deployed to Afghanistan and took over a small air-access only combat outpost in the heart of the Arghandab valley. At 23 years old and in charge of roughly 350 Americans, Afghans, and expatriates, and responsible for nearly $100 million worth of infrastructure and equipment, it was a unique and formative leadership experience that shaped me for the rest of my life and led me to where I am today.  My men and I enjoyed extraordinary success and upon returning to the United States, I volunteered and was selected for the Special Forces, and moved to North Carolina to complete Special Forces training.  After becoming a Green Beret, I returned to Afghanistan and led my Special Forces unit through increasingly difficult and challenging circumstances that corresponded with a deteriorating situation in Afghanistan. At this time, it became clear to me that the United States had lost the political will to win, and we had a true crisis of leadership brewing in our country.  While on active duty, my wife Rocky and I built a small firearms business that operated from our double-wide trailer home outside of Fayetteville. It grew out of our living room, then our garage, and then out of our warehouse that we built behind the double-wide.  When I left the Army, we had created a contract-manufacturing powerhouse, which we later grew into a manufacturing powerhouse. We purchased a 120,000 square foot state-of-the-art manufacturing facility and have been manufacturing American made defense products in Western North Carolina ever since.  My amazing wife Rocky and I have been married for 13 years and have 2 beautiful daughters, Reagan (6) and McKinley (4). After the fall of Afghanistan, I couldn’t stand by and watch our country deteriorate economically, socially, morally, and spiritually at the hands of failed leadership achieving failed outcomes. THAT’S why I’m running to be your next Congressman in NC-10.  Patriot, I’d NEVER ask you to support me without telling you about who I am. There are too many politicians in Washington who don’t value freedom, faith, or family, and as someone who dedicated his life to serving this country, raising a family, and running a Made In America small business, I want to serve YOU in Washington D.C.
