A Massive Win for Northeast Wisconsin
Jack,

In these difficult times, it may seem like good news is hard to come by. But yesterday was a very, very good day for Northeast Wisconsin.

Yesterday, Fincantieri Marinette Marine won a highly competitive U.S. Navy contract to build the new frigate — the ship that will be the cornerstone of our future Navy. This doesn’t just mean our community will be at the leading edge of building the future fleet, but also that thousands of Northeast Wisconsinites will have good paying jobs for decades to come.

As a member of the House Armed Services Committee — and the Subcommittee on Seapower — ensuring these ships are built in Marinette has been my top priority. I could not be more proud of the shipyard and all the local leaders who worked tirelessly to put Marinette in a position to win this contract.

This is really a testament to the hard work and tremendous skill of every single person that works at the shipyard, and a reminder that Northeast Wisconsin always answers the call to serve. We can never forget that the true strength of this country is found in communities just like ours.

Semper Fi,
