John,
Israel’s military destroyed 70% of civilian infrastructure in the past week in the West Bank city of Jenin.
This level of destruction is what we’ve been seeing in Gaza, where 90% of the population has been displaced multiple times. Now a million Palestinians have fled to Gaza’s al-Mawasi refugee camp, a designated safe zone where Israel’s military just dropped 2,000-pound U.S.-made “bunker buster” bombs on tents, disintegrating and burying entire families as they slept.
Israel’s government is trying to destroy all of Palestine to make it almost impossible for Palestinians to live there. This is genocide. This is extermination. This is annihilation. It’s an escalation of 76 years of continued ethnic cleansing since the Nakba, when the state of Israel was created through the forced removal and murder of hundreds of thousands of Palestinians.
This week, Palestine was finally seated among the United Nations’ “member states” for the first time. Palestinian representatives are now circulating a draft resolution in the UN calling on Israel to withdraw its military forces from the occupied Palestinian territories, in line with previous demands from the UN’s International Court of Justice. Withdrawing troops is part of the permanent ceasefire we’ve been demanding, and it’s an important step toward achieving Palestinians’ right to self-determination.
Please add your name to support Palestine’s draft United Nations proposal, which calls on Israel to comply with international law by immediately withdrawing Israel’s military from the occupied Palestinian territories, including the West Bank and Gaza.
Under international law, Israel’s government is obligated to end its presence in the occupied territories, including withdrawing all military forces from Gaza, the West Bank, and East Jerusalem.
As the world’s top court laid out in July, Israel’s presence in the occupied Palestinian territories is unlawful and must end “as rapidly as possible.”
The court noted that Israel is violating Palestinians’ right to self-determination, demanding Israel pay Palestinians reparations and allow Palestinians the right of return. The court also noted that other countries are obligated under international law to stop supporting Israel’s illegal presence in occupied Palestine, including by stopping weapons transfers to Israel.
We will continue lifting up the voices of the majority of the American people who are demanding that the U.S. government stop arming and funding the genocide against Palestinians. And as part of our continued demands for a permanent ceasefire, we now have an opportunity to show popular support for the latest UN proposal to end Israel’s military presence in Gaza and the West Bank.
Sign now to support Palestine’s proposed United Nations resolution, which calls on Israel to immediately withdraw its military forces from the occupied Palestinian territories, including the West Bank and Gaza.
Thank you for speaking out against human rights violations and supporting Palestinians’ humanity. We cannot let our government continue to dehumanize and enable the annihilation of the Palestinian people.
In solidarity,
Rashida

John,
This week, the Israeli military added to its long list of unconscionable war crimes, including:
-
Dropping multiple 2,000-pound U.S. bombs on a densely populated refugee camp in Gaza’s al-Mawasi area, a so-called “humanitarian zone” where Israel’s military has forced 1 million displaced Palestinians to go. Designed to destroy fortified underground bunkers, these “bunker buster” bombs disintegrated tents and entire families, creating 30-feet-deep craters in the ground.
-
Violently blocking the international effort to provide children in Gaza with polio vaccines. Stopping one convoy of UN vehicles at gunpoint, Israeli forces fired shots, encircled the vehicles, and rammed into them with tanks and a bulldozer.
-
Destroying 70% of civilian infrastructure in Jenin, a city in the West Bank, with bombs and armored bulldozers. A Palestinian health minister visited Jenin and said, “No place in Palestine is safe, not just Gaza.”
In July, the world’s top court ruled that Israel’s presence in the occupied Palestinian territories is unlawful and must end “as rapidly as possible.” The court noted that Israel is violating Palestinians’ right to self-determination and that other countries must stop supporting Israel’s illegal presence in Gaza, the West Bank, and East Jerusalem.
To affirm this ruling, Palestinian representatives are now circulating a proposed resolution in the United Nations calling on Israel to withdraw its military forces from the occupied Palestinian territories.
Please add your name to support the demand from Palestinian representatives in the United Nations: Israel must comply with international law by immediately withdrawing all military from the occupied Palestinian territories, including the West Bank and Gaza.
This week, Palestine was seated among United Nations “member states” for the first time.
The vast majority of countries in the United Nations voted to accept Palestine as a full member state, but the U.S. vetoed that measure and blocked it from becoming official. For now, Palestine cannot vote on resolutions but has some rights in the UN General Assembly, such as introducing proposals.
Their new proposal lays out what the United Nations and its International Court of Justice have already made clear. Israel is an occupying power. Under international law, Israel’s government is obligated to end its occupation, and Palestinians have a right to self-determination in their homeland.
Israel’s government has violated international humanitarian law for decades with impunity because countries like the United States refuse to hold it accountable. Nearly a year into this well documented genocide, we’re seeing continued expansion of the campaign to annihilate and exterminate the Palestinian people.
Israel’s Prime Minister continues to refuse to withdraw military forces from Gaza—a key part of a permanent ceasefire deal. Now Israel’s military is similarly attacking the West Bank with a goal of total destruction.
Add your name to join the call: As part of the permanent ceasefire we’ve been demanding and as an important step toward Palestinians’ self-determination, Israel’s military must leave occupied Palestine now.
Thank you for taking action to support human rights for Palestinians and all people. When we value human life and human dignity, we create a safer world for all of us.
In solidarity,
Rashida
