Dear Friends,
Thank you to all of the participants taking part in our #MCNRamadanChallenge. We've been seeing your stories on social media and your posts and videos, and it continues to inspire how Muslims are observing both their faith and civic duties.
I am so excited to share with you some of the photos we've been getting:
The MCN Ramadan Challenge requires us to activate our civic duties with the aim to make our communities and our world a better place, especially during this critical time of COVID-19. So proud to see all of our active citizens, and it's never too late to join!
Our Ramadan Food Pack-a-thon in conjunction with the Yemeni American Merchants Association was a huge success. Together, we packed and distributed 600 packages of food for families in need. Check out our photos below.
Our MCN Covid-19 Hotline is operating well. We have over a dozen Muslim and Muslim serving non-profits participating in this initiative and we are so grateful to have 20+ volunteers staffing the hotline, including volunteers who are helping our community fill out the unemployment claims forms. I want to share with you some of the statistics of the types of requests we're receiving.
As you can see, food access and cash assistance remain the highest requested areas. Hence, please donate generously to MCN so we can help these families access these critical needs. Funds collected from our Ramadan Challenge will help purchase groceries and provide cash assistance to families in need and who call through our COVID-19 Response Hotline!
Now, are you all ready for Week 2 of the MCN Ramadan Challenge? Check out the activity list below so you can plan in advance! Wishing you and your families, a happy and blessed Ramadan!
In Solidarity,
Executive Director
