Following her appearance at said memorial events, Loomer told The Associated Press she was simply invited to join Trump and did not have a formal role in the campaign. Got it.

Bomb threats force second consecutive day of school closures in Springfield, Ohio
Bomb threats on Friday forced the evacuation and closure of public schools and municipal buildings for a second consecutive day, as the city of Springfield continues to deal with sudden and very unwanted national attention due to Donald Trump and JD Vance's incessant false claims that Haitian immigrants are stealing and eating their neighbors' pets. Vance tripled down on the outlandish lies and falsely claimed there has also been a “massive rise in communicable diseases,” which public health officials immediately and flatly refuted. That anyone in good conscience can continue supporting these xenophobic, un-American, hate-spewing demagogues is beyond comprehension. The shame Trump and his army of MAGA minions have brought upon America is immeasurable.

RNC unveils despicable plan to disenfranchise voters in key state
Republicans have found a new way to try to secure a swing state for Donald Trump: voter disenfranchisement. On Thursday, the Republican National Committee and North Carolina’s Republican Party sued the state's Board of Elections, or NCSBE, to limit acceptable forms of voter identification at the polls this November. The lawsuit argues that students at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill should not be allowed to use a digital form of ID in order to vote. While this may seem like a small story, young Americans are using digital wallets at greater rates. As a joke from earlier this year said, an easy way you can spot a millennial is if they're carrying a physical wallet with them. And changing voter ID laws at the last minute is sure to have repercussions. Precisely as Republicans are intending.

UN says Israeli strike on Gaza school killed six of its staff
In just the latest humanitarian tragedy to strike the decimated territory, the UN Agency for Palestinian Refugees (UNRWA) says six of its employees have been killed in an Israeli air strike on a school it runs in central Gaza. Gaza's Hamas-run Civil Defense agency said a total of 18 people were killed in Wednesday’s strike on al-Jaouni school in Nuseirat refugee camp, which is being used as a shelter by thousands of displaced Palestinians. Israel's military said it carried out a “precise strike on terrorists” planning attacks from the school. On Thursday, IDF officials alleged that nine of those killed were members of Hamas’ armed wing and that three of them were UNRWA staff.
