Friend, it’s Cecile Richards. You know the stakes of this election all too well.

Women’s rights are under relentless attack — especially the right for women to make their own decisions about whether to have an abortion or seek reproductive health care.

Make no mistake: If Republicans hold the House, if they retake the Senate, and if Trump wins, they will do everything they can to sign a national abortion ban into law. That’s the truth, but we are not powerless. And that’s why I am doing whatever it takes to make sure this does not happen. That’s why I am writing to you today.

Because in Arizona, abortion is quite literally on the ballot — when voters go to the polls in Arizona this November they will be able to vote on a ballot measure to protect the right to choose an abortion, alongside voting in support of champions like Ruben Gallego.

Winning will not be easy. Arizona is one of the most closely watched states in the country, and for good reason. Polls show the state a dead heat. Ruben Gallego is in a neck-and-neck race with his opponent, anti-abortion crusader Kari Lake, with a seat in the U.S. Senate on the line. In her last campaign she lost by less than 20,000 votes — less than 1% of all votes cast.

If Ruben wins in Arizona, it is all the more likely that this pro-choice ballot measure will pass. It’s all the more likely that we pick up a few seats in the House, too. And it’s almost certain that we’ll be able to defeat Donald Trump and elect Kamala Harris.

For our children, for our grandchildren, Ruben must be successful in Arizona. I don’t even want to consider the alternative.

So, if you’ve heard enough, I have a humble request:

Please, make a donation to Ruben Gallego’s campaign in Arizona. Every campaign is difficult, but Arizona will be one of, if not the closest states in the country. We all have to do our part now, because he can’t win all on his own.

Thank you so much for working to improve our country for the better.
