Weekend Reading

Hi Friend,

With support from the AFSC community, our staff in Gaza have distributed food, water, hygiene kits, and other life-saving aid to internally displaced Palestinians. Over the past 10 months, we have assisted more than 1 million people. Recently, AFSC supplied chicken and potatoes to a local kitchen, which served hot meals to more than 1,400 in shelters in the Zawaidah area of central Gaza. Watch this video on Instagram to see more. TAKE ACTION
End double standards in our legal system [link removed]

More than 4.4 million Americans can’t vote because of felony convictions. Meanwhile, former President Donald Trump can still vote despite 34 such convictions. This disparity, rooted in Jim Crow-era laws, disproportionately affects Black Americans. AFSC is joining with Common Cause to urge Congress to end this double standard. Tell elected officials to end felony disenfranchisement! [link removed]

KOREAN AMERICAN STORIES
The lasting impacts of the Korean War [link removed]

With support from AFSC, a video project is documenting the stories of Korean Americans separated from family members in North Korea because of enduring conflicts. Watch this story of Sang Chul Kim. He was born in North Korea in 1932 North Korea and was forced to flee during wartime without saying goodbye to his family. (Instagram)

Special thanks to our monthly donors, our Partners for Peace, for their ongoing support to make all our work possible.
