TIME: How an Ordained Rabbi Ended Up Owning the World’s Most Famous Porn Company

Soloman Friedman and a group of investors known as "Ethical Capital Partners (ECP)" recently purchased MindGeek (now called "Aylo"), the owner of the notorious pornography site, Pornhub. Friedman, an ordained Rabbi, is also a high-profile criminal defense lawyer.

One thing he is very well-versed in: defending those accused of possessing child sexual abuse material (CSAM, the more apt term for "child pornography").

"At a 2018 criminal-law conference [Friedman] delivered a training lecture on sentencing guidelines for people convicted of possessing child pornography and concluded with advice on how lawyers could improve their clients’ chances of getting a lighter sentence. “Contact a tenacious child pornography defence lawyer today,” urges the website for his law firm Friedman Mansour, which also does business under the name Affordable Defence, and lists driving offenses, drug charges, robbery, and white collar crimes among its practice areas. “Sometimes, a simple administrative/systemic error, such as lost or destroyed evidence, can be enough to secure your release but it may require the experience of a seasoned criminal lawyer to get to that stage,” the site notes.

U.S. States Mobilize to Combat Sex Buying

After fighting with her immediate relatives, Emily* sought out a new place to stay. She called up her close family friend, whom she viewed as a maternal figure all her life. This woman, of course, allowed Emily to stay with her, but what she thought was a long-time friend extending an olive branch was the beginning of a harrowing nightmare.

Emily awoke one night with a gun to her head and this friend, who she viewed as a mother, forcing her into the sex trade. Over the next few months, Emily was shot up with sedation drugs and sold to over 200 sex buyers.

It wasn’t until an employee heard her screams from a hotel room that the police were able intervene.

Most people who hear this story will be enraged at the person who deceived and sex trafficked Emily, and rightfully so.

But what about the 200 men who paid to rape her? Shouldn’t they be held accountable too?

Holding sex buyers accountable is crucial to ending sex trafficking—and a growing number of states across the U.S. are recognizing this! Read about the momentum below.

BBC News: Sextorters Who Caused Jordan DeMay's Suicide Sentenced to Prison

Two Nigerian brothers have been sentenced to 17 years and six months in a United States prison after using sexually explicit images to extort Jordan DeMay, a 17-year-old from Michigan. Jordan took his own life as a result of the scam.

The brothers sent Jordan a friend request on Instagram, pretending to be a teenage girl, and flirted with him until he sent them sexually explicit images. After they received the images, the perpetrators blackmailed Jordan for hundreds of dollars, threatening to release them on the Internet if he did not cooperate.

Jordan told the brothers that he would commit suicide if they shared those images of him, and the criminals coerced him into doing so.

Thirty-eight other U.S. victims were also identified as being targeted by the men. 13 of them were minors.

The Tate brothers, aged 37 and 36, currently face charges in Romania of human trafficking and forming an organized group to sexually exploit women. Andrew Tate is also charged with rape.

If found guilty, the two men could be jailed for more than 10 years. They strongly deny the charges against them.
