On Wednesday, Judson University welcomes former Kentucky Attorney General Daniel Cameron as the keynote speaker during Constitution Day ([link removed]) – an event the Chicagoland university celebrates each year.

Cameron is a historical figure in the Bluegrass State – having served as the first African American and Republican to serve as AG since 1943. In 2023, Cameron was the GOP nominee for governor, losing to incumbent Gov. Andy Beshear. Since leaving office, the former AG is CEO of the 1792 Exchange – an organization whose mission is to protect free exercise, free speech and free enterprise and help American corporations succeed without pushing political agendas.

Judson – a well connected university, hosts the World Leaders Forum each year to raise money for Roeser student scholarships and Judson’s RISE Program – a unique program designed for students with intellectual disabilities. Less than one percent of colleges and universities around the country offer a program similar to RISE. Over the last decade, the WLF has hosted leaders including former U.S. President George W. Bush, former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, former Soviet Union President Mikhail Gorbachev, former Mexican President Felipe Calderon, Queen Noor of Jordan, Ambassador Caroline Kennedy and General David Petraeus.

On October 3rd, the WLF welcomes former Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper, who served as the 22nd Prime Minister from 2006-2015. Tickets are still
available ([link removed]) , and the event takes place on campus at Herrick Chapel.

Eileen O'Neill Burke, Democrat candidate for Cook County State's Attorney (Source: Illinois Review)
By Illinois Review

Eileen O’Neill Burke, the Democrat nominee for Cook County State’s Attorney, has unveiled a radical plan to create a “Choice Protection Unit” to target pro-life activists, which could have far-reaching consequences for free speech across Illinois.

Burke’s plan, if implemented, would prioritize prosecuting pro-life activists for exercising their First Amendment rights. Instead of focusing on real crime, such as the rampant shootings and murders that have left over 1,200 people shot and more than 400 dead in Chicago this year alone, Burke’s proposed “Choice Protection Unit”—which more accurately should be called a “First Amendment Prosecution Unit”—seeks to criminalize peaceful protests outside abortion clinics.

Burke’s Republican opponent, Bob Fioretti, has
pledged ([link removed]) to uphold the law as written and crack down on real crime, like the out-of-control shootings and murders plaguing Chicago.
