Happy Friday! Congress is officially back in session as we mark the last weeks of the 118th Congress. I have been hard at work meeting with leaders in the Biden-Harris Administration to advocate for our communities.

Defending Public Education

Public education is the best investment we can make toward our nation's future. It was a pleasure meeting with U.S. Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona to discuss his commitment to reinvesting in our schools. From ensuring student safety to expanding job training programs, we are grateful for his unwavering efforts to create opportunities and remove obstacles for our students.

Improving Internet Access

This week in committee, I questioned leaders from the National Telecommunications and Information Administration for updates on the implementation of the Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment (BEAD) Program. This initiative is crucial in closing the digital divide and ensuring everyone can access the online resources needed to succeed.

Supporting Innovation

Artificial intelligence is a rapidly advancing frontier that is transforming how we perceive and use data. Illinois must be part of this tech revolution. I spoke with U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo about how communities in IL-02 can benefit from these groundbreaking innovations.
