I headed back to Washington this week to meet with business leaders from Rochester and continue my work on the Committee on House Administration to defend our sacred democracy. Read more below:

Defending the Sacred Right to Vote

As top Democrat on the Committee on House Administration, I spoke in a hearing this week on the need to protect free and fair elections by supporting our nation’s election administrators and workers. We cannot allow conspiracy theories and misinformation to sow seeds of doubt in our elections.

I also joined my colleagues in a press conference to support critical legislation that will protect voting rights for all Americans. This legislation takes important steps to fight against disenfranchisement, combat voter discrimination, and strengthen access to the ballot box—which is the very bedrock of our democracy.

As a son of Rochester, home of Frederick Douglass and Susan B. Anthony, the fight for voting rights is in my DNA. And I won't back down.

It was great to welcome Kristen Oxley, from Paychex, to Washington this week to discuss ways to support their growth and continued success.

I was recently joined by Spectrum News’ JoDee Kenney here in Rochester to share what a day in my life is like as I work to serve our community and deliver solutions for your concerns.

We talked about my career and life leading up to Congress, and what I'm now fighting to achieve in Washington. Together we stopped by a local business for a tour and visited the Henrietta Senior Center to meet with residents.

Reflecting on the Anniversary of September 11th

Twenty-three years ago, after the rubble had been cleared and the fires extinguished, our country came together determined to never forget those we lost.

On September 11^th we remember the hundreds of first responders who selflessly and bravely ran towards danger. We mourn the thousands of lives taken and recognize the deep and lasting impact this attack continues to have on our nation. As we reflect on this tragedy, may we find strength in the spirit of unity and compassion and carry that forward to confront the challenges of today and tomorrow.
