[link removed] [[link removed]] It’s easy to get caught up in the ups and downs of the daily news cycle.

But sometimes that means the real stakes of the election get lost. In the end, this race comes down to which candidate is best equipped to make life better for everyday Oregonians.

So if you have a minute, I wanted to tell you a little bit about my story. ( If you don’t have a minute, but you’re all in on helping us win this race, here’s a link to pitch in a few dollars: [[link removed]] )

When my dad was five years old, he immigrated from Mexico to Texas. He picked cotton and tomatoes in the fields of the Rio Grande Valley, working long days — like so many Americans do — all the while dreaming that one day he would work his way out of poverty and make it to the middle class.

I grew up believing that if we worked hard anything was possible. But when I got to college, I realized my parents — even though they had worked so hard and done everything right — couldn’t stay afloat financially if they also had to pay my tuition. It just wasn’t doable.

So I put myself through school — working all kinds of odd jobs to make ends meet. It took seven years, but I got my degree.

That got me thinking: How could it be this difficult, when we had all worked so hard? And, I know that’s a question on the minds of so many families today across Oregon and our nation.

I ran for Congress because I believe Oregon deserves leaders who will work hard every day to make life better for all of us. I’ve worked hard to deliver progress, and I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished together so far. But we need to win this battleground seat and flip the House blue if we’re going to make the kind of change the American people deserve, .

There is so much on the line. And while I’d love to be able to tell you that we’ve got it in the bag, the truth is we’re tied. The support we receive from dedicated grassroots supporters like you could determine the outcome of this race. So if you believe someone with my background and my policy priorities belongs in Congress, I am asking you to pitch in whatever you can today →
