John — This week, North Carolina’s Republican Supreme Court, the most blatantly partisan court in America, indefinitely delayed distribution of mail-in ballots across North Carolina until Robert F. Kennedy’s name is taken off the ballot.

Let’s be clear: Kennedy is cherry-picking states to remove himself from the ballot in to tip the scales for Donald Trump. In North Carolina, the race for our electoral votes will be close, and Kennedy’s gamesmanship could make a difference.

This recklessly partisan ruling is more than just an inconvenience; it’s a threat to our democratic process. By freezing ballots indefinitely, Trump, Kennedy, and the court are disenfranchising North Carolinians — including elderly folks and military members overseas — who face barriers to voting on Election Day.

This is likely only the first of many Trump-inspired lawsuits meant to disrupt North Carolina’s election system. We need to be ready to fight back against MAGA election subversion for as long as it takes — not only in court, but in the media, in communities, and at polling places.
