[[link removed]]Democrat,
After weeks of adhering to the strict social distancing orders put into place by Governor Murphy, we are now beginning to see signs of hope for the first time. New cases of coronavirus are slowing, as are hospitalizations, ventilator usage and other key metrics. Additionally, the Governor has begun the process of responsibly reopening our state, first by unveiling “The Road Back,” a set of six principles [[link removed]] that will govern the state’s decision making process, and later by announcing that state parks will reopen this weekend. These are both welcome developments that continue to show the Governor’s excellent handling of this crisis.
While a whopping 79% of New Jersey residents approve of Governor Murphy’s actions, that hasn’t stopped Republican politicians from launching misleading, childish partisan attacks against him. It’s disappointing to see these politicians throw shots from the sidelines at a leader like Governor Murphy who has so steadily guided us through this crisis. The Governor has put partisanship aside throughout this process, even working closely with the Trump administration when needed to protect residents. That’s the kind of leadership our state needs right now, and I could not be more proud of Governor Murphy.

Yesterday, Governor Murphy met with the President and his team in the Oval Office to call for additional federal aid to combat COVID-19. The Governor’s visit is already paying dividends, as he secured a commitment for hundreds of thousands of new test kits [[link removed]] and pieces of protective equipment, which will help the state significantly expand testing this month.
Watch this interview with Governor Murphy on MSNBC following the meeting to hear more about his discussion with the President and demand for additional federal aid for our state to prevent potentially catastrophic financial issues.
