Never Forget

Image

23 years ago I was in high school in Bogota, Colombia when I heard the news.

I had already committed to becoming a Navy SEAL when I was younger, but what I saw on the morning of September 11, 2001 changed the course of my life, my worldview, and the lives of many others.

I joined the Navy, went to BUD/S, put on my Trident, and went to work taking the fight to America’s enemies in Iraq and Afghanistan to bring justice for the victims in New York, the Pentagon, and Shanksville.

But also so they could never bring the fight home to us again—that’s what was at stake.

I served with many men and women. All were committed to our country and willing to lay down their lives for the American people. I am grateful for their service and sacrifice, especially those who never made it home.

Remember the victims from that morning and the wars that followed, but most importantly, remember the feeling of unity we felt as we came together as a many for our one country. We need that now, and every day.

Never Forget.

S.E.A.L Summit

Image
On Saturday, September 7th, I had the privilege of hosting the Summit for Emerging American Leaders at the John Cooper School, an event dedicated to high school students from across the region. This non-political initiative aimed to provide young leaders with critical insights into civic responsibility and leadership. We were fortunate to have distinguished speakers address essential topics such as healthcare, understanding the appropriate levels of government to engage in different situations, the future implications of artificial intelligence, and personal accountability in the pursuit of success. Among the speakers were a highly accomplished “Top Gun” pilot and a former astronaut, both of whom brought invaluable real-world experience to the discussions.

Each student who participated in this summit received a Congressional Commendation, a symbol of their dedication and achievement, which they can proudly showcase on their resumes and college applications.

A Democrat Congressman on China, Cartels, and Kamala

Image

Congressman Jake Auchincloss was a Marine Corps officer, and is a member of Rep. Crenshaw’s Task Force to Combat Mexican Drug Cartels and a member of the Select Committee on the Chinese Communist Party. He joined Rep. Crenshaw to discuss what they’ve learned about China’s partnership with the cartels to push fentanyl in the United States. They discuss the challenges and possibilities of collaborating with the Mexican government to destroy the drug cartels. And they have a friendly debate over Trump vs Kamala.

Rep. Jake Auchincloss represents the 4th Congressional District of Massachusetts. He is a Marine veteran who commanded infantry in Afghanistan and led drug interdictions in Panama. Follow him on X at @RepAuchincloss.
