Dear John,

This week, ProPublica exposed Ginni Thomas, wife of Supreme Court Justice, Clarence Thomas for privately praising a religious-rights group fighting against Supreme Court reform—reforms that would hold her husband accountable for his unethical conduct. Justices Thomas and Alito have for years received lavish gifts from Republican megadonors with business before the Court. The transgressions have gone beyond conflict of interest and appear to be outright corruption. We can’t have the highest court in the land prioritizing the will of the wealthy few over the American people.

The corruption at the courts is eroding public trust in the judiciary and threatening our democracy. Without any real accountability, these sitting justices truly believe they are untouchable—that must change.

Help us apply pressure to hold corrupt justices accountable.
TAKE ACTION [[link removed]]
In addition to the constant SCOTUS ethics scandals, justices are refusing to recuse themselves from cases where there could be bias. These justices and their wealthy, extremist friends have been pushing back on the people’s calls for SCOTUS reforms. They claim that holding justices accountable will “destroy the independence of the judiciary and our democracy.” The justices’ relationships with politically motivated billionaires with interest in cases coming before the court is what is threatening the independence of the judiciary. SCOTUS needs a binding code of conduct and term limits—the highest court must be held accountable.
The Supreme Court belongs to the people NOT the few rich and powerful. We call on Congress to pass long overdue reforms to put an end to the ethics crisis in the judiciary. [[link removed]]
