The Trump administration’s response to the coronavirus is risking the safety
and well-being of our children.

First, the Trump administration is rolling back regulations to limit the
amount of mercury and other toxic metals released by power plants. Not only is
mercury linked to brain damage, but exposure to this kind of pollution is
linked to respiratory problems that make people even more susceptible to
coronavirus. Here in Texas, 1 in every 11 children already suffers from asthma,
and our state is home to nearly 20% of the country's 4 million uninsured kids.

If that weren't enough, the Trump administration wants to lower school
nutrition standards. Nearly 1 in 4 kids in TX-23 lives in poverty. They rely on
school-provided meals for their daily nutrition, even when schools are closed.
Replacing these meals with unhealthy ones puts our kids at an increased risk of
stroke, heart failure, and kidney disease.

President Trump’s administration is endangering the lives of our kids. They'll
do anything to prioritize corporate profits, even if it comes at the expense of
our kids' health and safety.

This is an attack on America’s children. Sign our petition right now if you
