Ongoing hostilities, repeated evacuation orders, and the challenges of delivering humanitarian assistance have rendered pregnancy unsafe for women.

Despite the insurmountable circumstances, UNFPA continues to provide support to women like Iman, Duaa, and their families.

With the health system in tatters, some nurses and doctors are volunteering to provide primary medical services from within displacement tents, including care for pregnant and postpartum women. Like Nurse Jenin , who provides free services for pregnant women and children from a tent she set up in a displacement site.

We condemn the violence in Gaza, the West Bank, and Israel, and echo the UN Secretary-General’s call for a sustained humanitarian ceasefire and the immediate and unconditional release of all hostages by Hamas. The suffering must end and peace must prevail.

Thank you for not looking away from this crisis.
