Friend, Just before I left Washington to return home to South Carolina, the United States Senate confirmed thirteen more of President Trump's judicial nominees! During Donald J. Trump's presidency, there have been 146 conservative judges confirmed to our courts with lifetime appointments – an historic achievement. As Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, I am incredibly proud of the progress we have made in confirming conservative judicial nominees to the federal courts. As I told Sean Hannity in December, my top priority as chairman is "judges, judges, and more judges!" We have many more judicial nominees who still need to get a vote, and I'm committed to ensuring those votes occur as quickly as possible. Earlier this summer at his official 2020 campaign kick-off, President Trump acknowledged the great strides we've made in getting conservative judges confirmed. In fact, I believe one of President Trump's longest-lasting accomplishments will be the tremendously qualified men and women he has chosen who will serve on the federal bench for decades to come. My commitment to confirming conservative judges has caused significant partisan pushback. One Democratic senator complained that we have been confirming "nominees through the Senate like a conveyor belt." My efforts to confirm conservative judges have landed me on the target lists of Washington Democrats, liberal Super PACs, and the Hollywood elite. The Radical Left is coming for me with an intensity not seen since Justice Brett Kavanaugh's confirmation hearings.
