Well . . . maybe she’s not fearless but she is certainly a fighter for all of us. Bravery is not the absence of fear, it’s a willingness to act in spite of that fear. I can attest that Jessica expressed several fears before stepping up to answer Governor Cooper’s unexpected call to serve as State Auditor.
Many candidates had announced their campaigns in early 2023. She would be starting a tough campaign a year behind – a year behind in terms of fundraising, building a campaign team, getting out the vote – all while doing the job. She knew this would be a difficult year, but that the very soul of North Carolina is on the ballot in November.
Governor Cooper knows what I know, Jessica has the integrity and expertise we need in a State Auditor. She has brought her professionalism, leadership, and analytical abilities to the table to ensure our tax dollars are spent most effectively on behalf of North Carolinians.
Our brave and fierce friend turns 40 today. We are fortunate to have her as State Auditor so I ask that you help us celebrate her by supporting her people focused campaign to continue serving our state.
