Join CSVANW for a two-day, in-person training that aims to provide participants with an understanding of the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Relatives (MMIWR) crisis. This training is designed to illustrate the intersections of domestic violence (DV), intimate partner violence (IPV) and sexual violence (SV) for service providers, advocates, family members, and others who want to learn about their role in working with MMIWR families to utilize their advocacy to combat the MMIWR crisis in Tribal communities. Intended Audience: Direct service providers and advocates providing services in the areas of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Relatives (MMIWR), domestic violence, sexual violence, and those who work with survivors of violence and their dependent children. Including but not limited to counselors, advocates, probation officers, judges, etc. Evaluation and Certificate: An evaluation link will be provided to you at the end of the training. CSVANW asks participants to complete this evaluation for grant reporting purposes. A certificate of completion for the training will be issued to you and sent to the email that was captured on the attendance sheet. Learning Objectives: Discuss the MMIWR crisis causations and how the correlation between DV/IPV/SV can lead to the causation of MMIWR. Determine how advocates and providers can better serve MMIWR families, learn about ending gender-based violence and engage in conversations around Vicarious Trauma and Advocacy and a facilitated conversation to determine ways to better support survivors and be a part of the solution to the MMIWR crisis.
