The Platform Workers Bill delivers medical coverage and CPF to over 70,000 gig workers

Housing and retirement financial adequacy, medical protection and a legal framework for representation are all coming for platform workers.

This world-leading support is from the Platform Workers Bill (PWB), which our PAP Government developed with feedback from platform workers, the National Trades Union Congress (NTUC) and the Singapore National Employers Federation (SNEF).

“The platform operators pay CPF and buy workplace injury insurance for their office staff," said Senior Minister of State for Manpower Koh Poh Koon. "Shouldn’t these workers who brave the elements to ensure the revenue stream for the platform operators get the same level of support and protection?" Read more.

The PWB provides statutory protections for platform workers as a distinct group from employees. This makes Singapore one of the world's first countries to do so. Watch more.
