Common sense
has prevailed. New Zealand
First’s commitment to direct public agencies, such as Health New
Zealand, to prioritise service delivery on need and not based on
ethnic identity has been completed.
We committed to this
in our coalition agreement, and we are delivering.
Central government
agencies are expected to provision public services based on needs, and
for appointment of Government contracts to be based on public
value.
New Zealand First was founded on the basis that
we are one people, and that each and every New Zealander, regardless
of their ethnicity, gender, creed, sexual orientation or otherwise
deserves equal access to public services.
When using our
public services, whether in Health, Education, Social Welfare, or
Housing, New Zealanders must be confident that we have systems that
prioritise genuine needs and not racial identity.
Equally, awarding
government contracts must be based on the value that an organisation
can provide and not to meet a race-based quota.
New Zealand
First continues to advocate for equal citizenship and one law for all.
This achievement follows;
· Stopping all work on He Pua Pua
· The abolishment of the Maori Health Authority
· Recognising that the United Nations Declaration on the Rights
of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP) has no binding legal effect in New
Zealand
· Restoring the right to local referendum on the ongoing use or
establishment of Maori Wards
· Beginning work on amending section 58 of the Marine and
Coastal Area Act
· The work for public agencies to communicate primarily in
English, and for public agencies to have their name primary in
English.
There is still more
to do. New Zealand First is advancing our work on reviewing all
references to the Principles of the Treaty of Waitangi from
legislation and to refocus the scope, purpose and nature of inquiries
of the Waitangi Tribunal.
However, we need
your help. Our opponents and the mainstream media are obsessed with
ensuring that New Zealand has two classes of people, and that the
culture of victimhood dominates our politics.
Your financial
support will help us counter their efforts and further our message of
equal citizenship and one law for all.
