Dear John,

Thank you to all those who joined us for the Local Peace Economy meeting last night!

We hope you left feeling as inspired to connect more deeply with the earth in new (and maybe ancient) ways as we did. As we talked about last night, we can't grow our local peace economy and create the future we want to live in without being in relationship with the land. Last night, we "harvested" several ways we can deepen our connection with the earth in our day-to-day lives. Here are a few practices we gathered together:

- Buying our vegetables from the farmers market
- Offering our needs and challenges to the trees
- Being in the sunshine
- Spending time near water
- Growing food
- Cultivating a relationship with animals
- Walking the labyrinth

We hope these practices nourish you and your relationship with the land. We'd love to hear what you're learning! You can share about your experience with our local peace economy listserv <[link removed]>.

If you want to revisit the content from the meeting, or if you weren’t able to join us, you canwatch the recording <[link removed]>of last night's call.

You can also find other resources and practices to support you as you reconnect with the earth in our Cycle of (Re)connection library <[link removed]>. If you're not sure where to start, we recommend:

- Widening Circles | An Interview with Joanna Macy (article) <[link removed]>
- For the Wild Podcast: Rosemary Gladstar on Thriving Where Planted (podcast episode) <[link removed]>
- Earth Alter (blog) <[link removed]>

Our next meeting will be Wednesday, <[link removed]> September 25th at 5:00pm PT/8:00pm ET. We hope to see you there!

This monthly webinar will be a space to learn about specific ways the peace economy takes shape in communities. We'll be learning from people immersed in the peace economy ecosystem. Our first conversation will be all about co-ops. Hope to see you there!

Calling all writers and artists! Join us for our first Peace Economy Writing Workshop on Tuesday, October 15th <[link removed]>. Bring your poems, short stories, songs, etc. to a supportive group of people using their art to cultivate peace in their communities. We can't wait to create with you!
